Falling For Paris
Every
generation of North Americans has fallen eloquently in love with the
French capital. Their glowing accounts, together with the much-loved
paintings of Toulouse-Lautrec and other French artists, have created a
formidable myth of romance, with the result that modern visitors often
find a large discrepancy between their expectations and reality.

Amsterdam: The World's Gayest City
While
just about every locale can boast it is unique in some way or other,
nowhere can compare to Amsterdam for throwing out the welcome
mat to gays and lesbians. This ancient city, which goes back to
the 1st century BC, has built a reputation on liberal attitudes, warm
hearts, and moderate prices. Amsterdam Pride, held each year in August,
is an experience I can only describe as going to the mother church of
gayness.

Aloha!
If
you expect to hear Hawaiian sounding words only on Maui, be prepared for
a different kind of experience in western Germany. No matter how you
approach Cologne, the first thing you will see is the enormous

city life, you may be tempted to believe otherwise.

The Gay Way To Europe!
The list of places "every gay person should see at least once before
dying" is open to some debate. South Beach? Many (myself included)
much prefer Ft. Lauderdale, up the road. Fire Island? Some find it nothing
more than a gay ghetto surrounded by sand. San Francisco - well, everybody
probably can agree on that one.
